A considered heritage renovation and internal reconfiguration designed by Crissy Zhang Design This Toorak residence reimagines a traditional home through a “classic fusion” approach carefully harmonising ornate period features with contemporary insertions. Original architectural detailing is retained and celebrated, while new joinery, stone surfaces and modern glazing introduce clarity and openness to the floor plan. The kitchen and living areas unfold in a warm, neutral palette of White Duck Quarter and soft greys, layered with Arabescato marble benchtops, light American oak flooring and bespoke 2PAC cabinetry. Terracotta feature tiles and textured finishes add depth, while brushed nickel and antique bronze accents bring refined contrast. Upstairs, the master suite and ensuite are elevated through natural stone, porcelain tiling and sculptural fixtures, creating a calm, tailored retreat. Throughout the home, timber textures, marble detailing and softly layered lighting work together to craft a space that feels timeless, balanced and quietly luxurious. A thoughtful evolution of heritage architecture into a modern family home designed to grow gracefully over time.
